Do I need to be a "pediatric chirpractor" to take this class on Polyvagal for Kids?
NO
This course is open to EVERYONE!
We've created this class for anyone who sees the opportunity to elevate their practice and the lives of the families you care for. We've also structured it in a way that you can teach these practices to parents and care givers, becoming the go-to-expert in your community.
Co-Regulation is a key componenr of Polyvagal theory.. Studies in Neuroscience show that humans develop their abilities for emotional self-regulation through connections with reliable care givers who soothe and model in a process called co-regulation.
We must learn to CO-regulate before we can learn to SELF-regulate!
If this process is disrupted, it can compromise our ability to self-regulate, making it more difficult to control emotions, thoughts and behavior in childhood and later in life.
Here's the good news... Even if a child has not learned to effectively self-regulate, you can still give them the skills and tools to help them learn to regulate their nervous system.
Applied Polyvagal practices are an extremely effective strategy for restoring calm and safety to a dysregulated nervous system.
We believe that chiropractors are like super co-regulators and that somatic work like Chiropractic when combined with polyvagal exercises will create a more regulated nervous system, elevating your practice members' ability to heal, grow and thrive.
What can you expect from this course?
This course focuses on the developing baby and child and will include assessment techniques and strategies for working with both neurotypical and neurodiverse populations.
Special focus will be given to exercise and activities to foster regulation in the child including calming techniques for the over activating nervous system as well as exercises to engage the shut down or guarded child.
This radically evolves the quality of care you can provide and the level of trust you'll engender.
